I believe that films should inspire and captivate. Films should tell a story. I live by this mantra every day at Portland Event Films. Having grown up in Portland Oregon, I know that we are a very creative city. A city that expects the highest quality of artistic content. That is why I craft each of my film production services to best extoll these virtues. What started as a part-time gig DJ’ ing has grown into a full-service entertainment group.
Working with me, you will notice right away that I see things a little differently from other videographers. I see weddings through the lens of an entertainer. My background in lighting and sound translates seamlessly to produce wedding films that are not only visually stunning but are also engineered to reproduce the highest quality audio so that no important moment is lost. I love the energy and the emotions that weddings bring out.

Shannon is a cinematographer, camera operator, and assistant camera operator with 8 years of experience working on short films, music videos, commercials, live broadcasts, events, and tutorial videos in a wide range of styles. These productions have ranged from independent films to professional, commercial productions.
Having attended film school for cinematography, he knows the ins and outs of the industry and has the technical know-how that allows him to get perfect shots. Shannon has a passion for visual storytelling and looks forward to working with you on your next big project!
Jonathan Schell
Jonathan Schell has worked in the media industry for over seven years, with early experience in advertising and post-production as an editor, transitioning to full-scale media production in the last few years. He specializes in short-form visual storytelling and loves the fast-paced nature of the web and social media-oriented projects.
Jonathan likes to reverse engineer his working process; his experience with editing guides his workflow as a cinematographer and director. Jonathan thrives on seeing a story come together with every successful shoot, and he brings a keen creative vision and discipline to his craft.

Do you offer Full Ceremony Videos
Weddings are a time of joy and wonder. It's easy to become absorbed in the moment, making it tough for couples to take advantage of the occasion together and appreciate all of the hard work that went into bringing their marriage vision to life! This bundle will allow us to capture every minute of your wedding from start to end. Full wedding ceremony video coverage lets us capture every moment of your big day. We're experienced in capturing the emotions on your wedding day, and will work with you to ensure that your video is exactly how you want it
How do you capture audio during the wedding?
We use a combination of wireless lapel mics and an omnidirectional microphone. Omnidirectional microphones pick up sound from any direction and don't require a boom pole. They are typically placed on stands near the bride and groom. Lapel mics are worn by the wedding party and picked up good quality audio. We have a set of traditional microphones as well, in case the wireless audio has problems. We'll never let your wedding day be marred by bad sound.

Recently, couples have been opting for smaller intimate weddings. That's why we provide elopements and micro-weddings films for couples who want a more cinematic and intimate experience for their wedding day.
Wedding films or Wedding Videos?
How is a wedding film different from a wedding video? A wedding film is a short film that tells the story of your wedding day. It is a more cinematic approach to wedding videography and will typically be around 10-15 minutes long. A wedding video, on the other hand, is a more traditional style of video that captures all of the moments from your wedding day. Both styles are equally beautiful and will capture the memories of your wedding day perfectly.
What is a Wedding Highlight Film?
The highlight film is designed to show off the best parts of your wedding day. From the first dance to the cake cutting, we'll capture the highlights of your wedding day in a fun, fast-paced format. Our goal is to create a compilation of memories that you can enjoy over and over again.

This is not just an engagement film; it's a love story. We at DJ Cutt Entertainment specialize in filming beautiful and timeless engagement films for couples in the Portland area. Our team has a lot of experience filming weddings and knows how to capture the emotion of this special time in a couple's life. We take great care in capturing everything from the proposal to the planning stages of the wedding. Our films are tailored specifically for each couple, and we want to make sure your film is unique to you.
How far do you travel and will it cost us extra?
We are more than happy to travel as far as needed to capture your perfect wedding day! There is an additional cost for us to travel. We want to make sure that your wedding film is everything you dreamed it would be, and we're willing to go the extra mile to make that happen. If you have travel needs for shooting your wedding, please contact us for a free consultation so that we can discuss travel expenses and how they may affect your final wedding video cost.
Do you Offer Raw Footage
Yes, however, Videographers regularly charge for the raw footage as they want to discourage the use of this footage in other mediums. It's a licensing issue as well as a brand issue. If someone takes the raw footage and edits it themselves, they can transfer to any medium they want, and if done poorly, this can reflect badly on the videography company that shot the footage. Remember, when purchasing raw footage, you are essentially purchasing the rights to someone else's creative work, so you have to compensate the artist for that transfer of rights.
How long does it take to edit a wedding film?
Our editing process typically takes about 4-6 weeks per wedding film. We want to make sure that we take the time to get it right, and that you are absolutely thrilled with the final product. Our editing process includes adjustments like color grading, adding music, titles, transitions, etc. The importance of your wedding day doesn't just fade away after it happens. We want you to have a beautiful film that will remind both yourself and those who were there, how much love was felt during this special time in both partner's lives
