Then, once you find someone you like, keep them in the loop as you plan out your ceremony and reception. Let them know the itinerary and highlight the parts that are most important for documenting. That way they can plan out when and where they need to have the camera ready, and how many cameras and microphones will be necessary.
Don’t forget the sound
Speaking of microphones, the sights at an Indian wedding may be unique, but so are the sounds. A great looking video isn’t worth very much if the sound quality is lousy. Make sure your videographer has the necessary sound equipment to record your ceremony and reception with clean, crisp audio.
This likely means they will need to plug into whatever sound mixer your AV person or DJ is using. If they are planning to capture sound with nothing but an on camera mic, then they probably aren’t the right videographer for your wedding.
